The Oristano rice company iFerrari confirms its high quality also for this 2023 with an award-winning and certified production starting from the seed up to the finished product that reaches the tables of consumers through a 100% traceable supply chain.
In fact, Riso I Ferrari received the Special Mention in the Rice Farms Category at the “Italy Food Awards” award gala presented by Donato Ala and Rosaria Renna which took place on Saturday 18 February at the splendid location of Villa Renoir in Legnano, Milan.
The evening was opened by the video of the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida who greeted those present and then kicked off the "Italy Food Awards 2023", the Oscars of local agri-food excellence Italian (in their first edition) sponsored by Masaf (Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry).
The competition, attended not only by important specialized journalists but also by the Honorable Maria Grazia di Maggio who, with her precise intervention, guaranteed the government's commitment to being close to the needs of all the companies that contribute to the promotion of Italian agri-food, it was a great moment for sharing, comparing and presenting the best made in Italy products.
The company "Riso iFerrari", thanks to this prestigious award, confirms itself as a protagonist in the panorama of Italian rice, as well as in that of Sardinia. In fact, the company has also participated over the years in the regional edition of the Italy Food Awards, the Sardinia Food Awards. In 2017 and 2018 it obtained the Special Mention within the Pasta Category, from 2019, the year of creation of the Rice Category, it was confirmed as the overall winner in its category, to finally reach 2022 with the Special Award For Innovation Rice Products.
“The awards received represent great satisfaction for us and a stimulus to try to do better and better. Thanks go first to the whole organization of the Italy Food Awards, to all those who choose us by trusting our products and our production, and of course to all our great team.
Sharing this important moment with leading Italian companies in our sector such as Riserva San Massimo, Riso Melotti, Riso Elettrico, Terre Alte Villarboit, Riso In Fiore and Il Re Del Riso, is a great emotion.
We have been producing rice from certified seeds grown in Sardinia for more than 50 years, in the last few years we have invested time and resources in taking care of the "cultural" transition >. It is necessary to believe that the goal is no longer to increase the quintals produced per hectare, but to make the company sustainable not only from an environmental point of view, but also from an economic and social point of view. For this reason, in addition to joining the National Integrated Production Quality System (which regulates production at national and Community level, reducing its impact on man and the environment), and the use ofprecision agriculture thanks to the “Maristanis” project; we have joined the "Blue Community" of the MedSea Foundation, a network of entrepreneurs and companies with a common goal: the sustainable development of Sardinia", concludes Carlo Ferrari, the company's sales manager.
The history of Riso iFerrari has its roots in the experience and peasant tenacity of Angelo Mario Ferrari, an award-winning rice grower for more than 50 years as a producer of certified seed rice grown in Sardinia.
Today the iFerrari company carries on its tradition with integrity, respecting nature and the environment through experimentation and research as constant inspiration in its sustainable project to ensure consumers the quality they deserve.
Research that has led the company, in addition to the marketing of the rice line "I Chicchi d'Angelo", to begin a process of processing rice derivatives by creating a new product, a 100% Sardinian rice snack, not fried, gluten free and 100% vegetable: "Le Nuvole d'Angelo" (produced entirely within the company iFerrari and winner of the aforementioned award "For Innovation of Rice Products").
The recognition obtained at the Italy Food Awards certifies the high quality of both the "I Chicchi d'Angelo" table line and the "Le Nuvole d'Angelo" rice snacks by Riso iFerrari and adds to the Certificate of Excellence received on 14 February for the category "Production of rice from certified seed" which the National Rice Body (National Body for the promotion and protection of the agricultural sector) wanted to award to the company Risicola Oristano for the excellence of its seed rice production.
